Alexis Tae: Jessie and the period setting of Timeless

Two productions from 2023 gave Tae different settings for her acting: a contemporary story and a sequence inspired by the 1940s.

Jessie in Blind Date

Tae plays Jessie in Blind Date, directed by Mandi Slade. The February 2023 release announcement names Lumi Ray, Michael Vegas and Casey Calvert among the cast. Jessie is the person meeting Ray’s character for a blind date.

Tae said she was proud of the performance and appreciated working within a storyline. She singled out her collaboration with Ray and Slade while also praising the cast as a whole.

A different decade

In December 2023, Tae appeared in the third installment of Timeless with Jane Wilde and Seth Gamble. Gamble directed the production, which moved through several decades. Their installment used a 1940s setting.

Gamble described classic Hollywood hairstyles as references for the sequence. He mentioned Bette Davis, Betty Grable and Rita Hayworth when discussing its visual direction.

Tae’s response to the production

Tae praised the detail in the hair and makeup and described the collaboration with Gamble and Wilde as a favourite experience. Her comments focused on how the production made the period setting distinctive.
